I further resent your assumptions about my not reporting about Stacie's arrest because I am not sure your "tip" is entirely selfless. My regular readers appreciate what I do, the risks I take and in 20 years, emails like yours piss me off because they are from people who dont support me financially or otherwise. Did you ask any other local media why they did not cover Stacie, Mark or Talvi's arrest? Did you ever ask them about their lack of coverage about Rick Littlefield, Kailan Meserve and so many other cases only I covered? They certainly hang out in Old Town watering holes enough to recognize Stacie's name.
The $, the resources, the staff every other local media outlet has does not reflect in the output or quality of content. They face zero consequences for their reporting.
Why didnt you send me this tip when she was arrested, even if it was a day or two later? We have no HCSO PIO at the moment and jail reports only go back so far. I am going to do a post now because the news tip is of interest to the community. But I am also going to post your email and my response. I keep my sources confidential but certain people, often with an agenda, misuse the email address & always happen to email me on a day that is extremely busy. My regular readers and those sources who have no agenda know that I have kept them confidential. If you are a genuine whistleblower you wont respond again and understand why I posted your email or if you do, I will know whether you are "selfless" or if I was right.
And my hunch proved correct. The Humboldt insider troll avoided all my questions, lashed out and admitted the tip was not "selfless." 20 years of cowardly, Humboldt insider bullies which include law enforcement, government county employees and the good ole wasting my time and attacking me.

Hi John!
I found this statement from your coverage of Talvi Fried's arrest interesting:
"Just like Mark McKenna DUI conviction , you won't see anything written about Talvi's arrest in the rest of the local media. Just like you never read about the lawsuit against Savage Henry and anticipated bankruptcy."
On 11/19, Stacie Nunes - longtime bar manager and somewhat recent co-owner of the Shanty - was arrested. She's even more well-connected than either Mark or Talvi - and her fellow Shanty co-owner Lynne Sandstrom is even more connected.
Were you asked to keep quiet and not report on Stacie's arrest?
Best regards,
(name redacted)
