The latest update in the lawsuits filed against City of Eureka by Eureka Housing For All and Citizens for a Better Eureka are listed case by case in this post.
Eureka Housing For All claimed City of Eureka was given "incorrect guidance" by the City Attorney. I reported on that, asked for comment. City of Eureka didn't even bother sending me the demurrer where the City claim's EHA petitioner's demand is "built on a convoluted interpretation of the law" and must be dismissed with prejudice.
Where is the regular coverage or facts from court in other local media besides useless op-eds and sensational drivel dividing the community? They don't even print some press releases. Yet the good ole boys and gals on both sides keep funding supporting the same lifelong "media" people have tuned out. Now the same lazy media will email and do a follow up like they do hours and days later, only because they are called out. Sloppy, desk "reporting" instead of actually going out and working.
Most people, conservative or liberal are pissed at both parties. Let each side keep wasting time, resources and money and see who prevails.
I am not on anyone's side but so far, one side got the signatures and got a motion granted in court. What exactly is the opposition who want funds from the public doing? Results matter; not words.
The same Humboldt insiders, commenters and trolls, mostly anonymous, on both sides with agendas are not helping businesses with parking, revenue or people getting housed. If you are struggling with either, who is really to blame other than the same gridlock and people keeping Humboldt stagnant.
