In September, EPD arrested 22 year old Ray Madrone on a Ramey warrant. His co-defendant, Carlos Ariel MartinezGutierrez was also arrested on 9/27.
A preliminary hearing started in that 2023 case on 11/27 and continued on 11/28. Madrone is represented by Conflict Counsel Supervising Attorney Meagan O'Connell. MartinezGutierrez who is represented by Ms. Andrea Sullivan. Both were held to answer as charged by Retired Judge John Feeney. Charges and complaint for this case are in previous post.
Deputy District Attorney Ian Harris was the prosecutor for the preliminary hearing Arraignment on information on that case is on 12/12/23.
Madrone has another 2023 case for posession of alprazolam and cocaine.
The preliminary hearing on 11/27 was continued by stipulation to 11/28 and continued again by the DA because of witness unavailability. That preliminary hearing is scheduled for today. I will update with court minutes tomorrow.
12/1: Retired Judge Christopher Wilson issued his ruling which I will do a separate post on and dismissed this case and as he suggested, the People immediately refiled.
12/12: Both arraigned in assault case. Trial confirmation on 1/23/24; jury trial on 2/5/24.
