41 year old Sarah Marie Carroll was booked into the jail yesterday on an arrest warrant with a 2023 case number for VC 14601.1(a) driving on a suspended or revoked license and VC 20001(b)(2) hit and run causing serious bodily injury or death. I have not seen her name on the daily jail log in 2023 and will update with more by Monday, the latest. Carroll was released on O.R. even though these are felony charges and she is on probation for her 2020 case.
According to the HCSO active warrant list, it was issued on 10/25/23.
She is local attorney Michael Acosta's partner and they both resolved their 2020 case in September for 1 year of probation. Both Acosta and Carroll pleaded guilty to Count 1 HS 11366 operating or maintaining a drug house and Count 4 HS 11377 (a) posession of meth as misdemeanors.
Will Acosta represent her if charges are filed in this new case? Why wasn't she booked on probation violation?
There is a 2023 case with the two charges mentioned above. Arraignment is on December 15. The alleged hit and run was on September 12, 2023.
I have sent the following questions to CHP:
This occurred on Sept 12, 2023. Did Sarah Carroll contact CHP? When was it discovered that she was the suspect? Why was she not arrested? I see she was booked on Nov 3.
