I have covered Ms. Van Dyke when she was Humboldt Deputy Conflict Counsel. I also provided imformation in March 5, 2024 election posts when I reported her as a candidate for Humboldt judge.

I would encourage people to meet Ms. Van Dyke. She is running against Judge Gregory Kreis. I am not going to list all the reasons he needs to go because I have covered him, the lawsuit against him, appeals about his rulings for years. All you need to do is Google him. No one is running against the other incumbent Judge Lawrence Killoran. That alone should tell you which incumbent needs to go.

There were more people planning to run against Kreis but for many reasons including fear of running against the Humboldt insider court cabal, they chickened out. I can assure you that Ms. Van Dyke will face some dirty tactics, anonymous or not and there are local media that I call out regularly that are tools for the Humboldt court establishment and supporters of Kreis. Just look at what they cover, what they don't and their legal advertisers.

Voters made the right choice in the last election with Judge Steven Steward. You have another opportunity to balance Humboldt courts for someone who fought for people that arent Humboldt insiders or wealthy.

Unlike the local incumbents and challengers for the upcoming March 5, 2024 primary, Ms. Van Dyke filed her paperwork with the local elections office, just had a website go live yesterday and has still managed to have relevant and current information under every tab. I am sure more information will be added. She will be formally announcing her candidacy.

I wont name the other local challengers,yet, but some have informally announced and had their sites up for months. If you cant even have one endorsement up or update your site for weeks, then don't expect to be taken seriously as a candidate. The same people that I had to tell several times to follow through with paperwork they should have filed.
