Joanna Carroll Miranda placed on probation for embezzlment from City of Fortuna

Joanna Carroll Miranda was booked and released yesterday at midnight for PC 503, embezzlment, for time served. She was placed on probation. Bail was $25,000 and she posted bond.

There is a 2021 case in the system with a guilty plea and conviction from yesterday. In the court case Joanna Cardoll Miranda aka as Joanna Caroll Watson.

There are 4 other cases in the system but they just list a Joanna Miranda. With the new e court system, dob is no longer available and with people listing names differently in court, I cannot confirm if this is the same Joanna Miranda as the one above.

A google search for the same  name shows a job  listing for a Supervisor for City of Fortuna.  contacted the City of Fortuna.

Fortuna Deputy City Clerk Buffy Gray and City Clerk/Human Resources Manager Siana L. Emmons both confirmed Joanna Miranda is no longer employed with the City.

The complaint alleges the money was stolen from Fortuna.
