A remittitur was issued on August 26 in convicted murderer Zachary Harrison's case. Petition for review was denied by Supreme Court.
On June 4, Harrison lost his appeal. The judgement had been affirmed.
Listed below is the definition of a remittitur. What will this mean for Harrison, the victims and their families? I will add updates to this post but it won't necessarily be today. Takes time for that paperwork to get here and be reviewed.
The prosecutor for the trial was former Deputy District Attorney Adrian Kamada who is now a Deputy Public Defender. The trial judge was Judge Kaleb Cockrum. Harrison was represented by the Public Defender and with Kamada at that office now, a new attorney should be appointed to represent Harrison to avoid conflict of interest.
Especially with the former Public Defender Marek Reavis and current Public Defender Luke Brownfield being co-defendants in a lawsuit with serious allegations about that office.
