Ruling on motion for reconsideration of release of sexually violent predator Joshua Cooley to be issued by Judge Feeney in a week

On August 13, Assistant Deputy District Attorney Stacey Eads and Conflict Counsel Supervising Attorney Meagan O'Connell presented arguments on motion for reconsideration of release of sexually violent predator Joshua Cooley.

Judge Feeney will submit a written ruling in about a week.  No future dates were set as that will come with the ruling.

The case was also on for placement hearing and for the defense motion to leave order in place.

While this case regarding Cooley being released from Coalinga State Hospital was going on, Ms. Connell filed a writ of habeas corpus for Cooley  last year. It was denied.

In his criminal case, Mr. Russ Clanton represented him. Former Deputy DA Max Cardoza was the prosecutor.
