Judge Canning released a meth addict charged with child abuse for hurting an infant and pointing a firearm at an older child

While waiting in court yesterday for other cases, I got to witness another disaster created by California's criminal friendly politicians and another criminal who shouldn't have been  released by Judge Timothy Canning in 2019.

A mistake that was only fixed yesterday due to another excellent argument by Deputy District Attorney Whitney Timm. Judge Christopher Wilson denied supervised release for Martin Warren which was also the recommendation by Probation.

Warren's latest arrest was a felony charge for meth. Warren was on a deferred entry of judgement on another case for a felony count. The People are filing to terminate that due to lack of compliance.

In 2019, Judge Canning released Warren with the only condition that he should obey all laws.  In that case, Warren has been charged with two counts of child abuse endangerment. One count was for injury to a 17 month old infant. The other count was Warren pointing a firearm at an older child

The People are amending the charges to include a special allegation of great bodily injury to the infant.

Warren admitted that he used meth daily. The preliminary for his meth case scheduled for August 23 seems to have been moved to the same day as his preliminary for the child abuse case.

I don't know if Deputy Conflict Counsel Owen Tipps is Warren's attorney or just appeared on the case for his office yesterday but he did not have anything to say.
