Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland, White House Council on Environmental Quality Chair Brenda Mallory and Representative Jared Huffman were in Eureka today to discuss offshore wind investments and clean energy jobs.
Secretary Haaland was very impressed with Humboldt. She said this trip is the first step to partnering with local communities to transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy.
First District Harbor Commissioner Larry Doss told me he appreciated that Secretary Haaland, Chair Mallory and Representative Huffman took time to visit Humboldt.
"These kind of federal, state, local partnerships highlight the potential of our local economy," said Commissioner Doss.
