I reported last February that Natalie Arroyo would run for 4th District Supervisor. This news is not a surprise to most people.
A scoop and breaking news is not days, months or years later. More and more people tell me every day in person, via texts, emails that they read me because I report what other local media won't cover and because I get news out first.
What makes my scoop a year ago real reporting is that I am not included or sent anything from Arroyo because she is immature and unprofessional.
"Natalie Arroyo will run against 4th District Supervisor Virginia Bass. Few people have been speculating about Arroyo for a while. Only one person recently mentioned to me Allison may run against Bass."

There is no difference between the good ole Humboldt network on the left, right or "middle". Just like the national press, you have locals shills and tools versus independent reporting.
Whether Supervisor Bass runs for re-election or not; what change will Arroyo bring to the BOS?Making life better for her supporters, funders and cronies? That is what politicians do. Quid pro quo did not get invented in the last four years.
Judging from Arroyo's performance on Eureka City Council, I hope there is at least a third viable candidate.
Kamisu Park on 4th Street attracts trash and transients. There are many issues with the Coast Guard Park on Broadway and Fairfield and the rest of Eureka. Arroyo loves to tout her Coast Guard credentials. Her photo ops don't translate into Eureka being better. This current Eureka Council has made Eureka shittier; literally.
