On Aug. 12, 2021, at about 9:30 p.m., Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputies on patrol in the area of Highway 101 near Miranda conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for multiple vehicle code violations.
Deputies contacted two occupants of the vehicle, identified as 39-year-old Rocky Keene and 25-year-old Sara Fuller. Keene was found to be on active CDC Parole. Fuller was found to have multiple outstanding warrants. While speaking with the individuals, deputies observed paraphernalia used to consume a controlled substance inside the vehicle in plain view.
Both Keene and Fuller were detained, and deputies conducted a search of the vehicle. While searching the vehicle, deputies located a loaded firearm and over 20 grams of Xanax pills, in addition to the drug paraphernalia.
Keene was arrested and booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on charges of felon in possession of a firearm (PC 29800(a)(1)), person prohibited in possession of ammunition (PC 30305(a)), possession of a controlled substance paraphernalia (HS 11364(a)), driving on a suspended license (VC 14601.1(a)), violation of probation (PC 1203.3(a)(2)), possession of a controlled substance (BP 4060) and parole hold (PC 3000.08(c)).
Fuller was cited on her warrant charges and released.
