Sherrie Rosalee Bazan posted bail and is out of custody.

Press Release:

On July 21st, 2019, at approximately 3:30 p.m., Special Agents with the Humboldt County Drug Task Force, with the assistance of a narcotic detection K9 with the Humboldt County District Attorney’s Office, conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 3400 block of Highway 36, Hydesville.

During their multi-week investigation, agents received information the owner of the vehicle, Sherrie Rosalee Bazan (age 37), is distributing methamphetamine throughout Humboldt County.  Agents also secured a search warrant for Bazan’s residence located in the 1000 block of Searles Street, Eureka.

During the traffic stop, Bazan was detained without incident.  Also present inside the vehicle was a 15 year old juvenile.  Agents searched Bazan’s vehicle and located approximately 5.75 pounds of suspected methamphetamine in the trunk.

Bazan was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility.  Bazan was booked for transportation of controlled substances across multiple counties, possession of controlled substances for sales, and child endangerment.  The juvenile was released to a responsible party.

During the search of Bazan’s residence agents located digital scales, packaging materials, and items commonly referred to as “pay and owe” notes.  In addition, agents located over $2,000 in U.S. currency that is believed to be profits from narcotics sales.   This currency was seized and will be held pending asset forfeiture proceedings.
