Around 8:47 this morning, Humboldt Bay Firefighters got a call. They had just sat down and ordered breakfast. Yesterday, same thing happened. They got to come back yesterday to pick up their food.
I just happened to be at the same place both days having coffee. I am not going to say where because the firefighters deserve their privacy.
Every day, firefighters and law enforcement are ready to protect and serve at a moment's notice. So many of us take for granted being able to drink coffee and have a meal uninterrupted.
