Jorden Sterling is already in prison so why is on for arraignment on new charges?

Jorden Sterling took a plea and is currently at San Quentin prison. He has not been transported back to the Humboldt County jail.

Sterling is on for arraignment this afternoon on new charges for elder abuse with a special allegation that he personally inflicted great bodily injury in the commission of the crime.

The arraignment letter was ironically mailed by the DA's office the same day as the last hearing in the case that Sterling is serving a prison sentence. Will today's arraignment be vacated due to a clerical error or will new charges affect Sterling's prison sentence?

This afternoon in court, the DA has to file an affadavit to get Sterling back to Humboldt County to be arraigned on these charges.
