Humboldt Bay Fire Press Release:

At about 2:45pm on Wednesday, July 31st, a passerby saw smoke coming from the corner of an office building on the 700 block of 4th St.
.
Concerned, the passerby ran into the business and alerted employees who grabbed a fire extinguisher and exited the building. Seeing flame coming from the exterior of the building, a brave employee was able to discharge the contents of the fire extinguisher onto the flames and put the fire out.

Humboldt Bay Fire crews arrived on scene within a minute of being dispatched and confirmed the fire was extinguished and had not spread through the walls to any other areas of the building by using their tools to check inside the walls.

Crews also set up fans throughout the office to expel unhealthy smoke from the interior working conditions.
