Joshua Spaulding, the victim in the Matthew Ramsey case, arrested for the second time

Joshua Thomas Spaulding was arrested yesterday at 6:18 p.m. for child endangerment yesterday by Arcata Police Department. Spaulding is the alleged victim in attempted murder suspect Matthew Ramsey's case.

I just spoke with APD Chief Brian Ahearn. A witness called APD at 6:05 p.m. about a two year old wandering unattended on the 2100 block of Heather Lane. APD responded.

She was identified as Spaulding's daughter and "under his care". Spaulding was home. With help of CWS the child was reunited with family members.

In Nov 2016, he was arrested for allegedly running down people outside St. Vincent DePaul

273a(a): Any person who, under circumstances or conditions likely to produce great bodily harm or death, willfully causes or permits any child to suffer, or inflicts thereon unjustifiable physical pain or mental suffering, or having the care or custody of any child, willfully causes or permits the person or health of that child to be injured, or willfully causes or permits that child to be placed in a situation where his or her person or health is endangered, shall be punished by imprisonment in a county jail not exceeding one year, or in the state prison for two, four, or six years.
