This is a result of a Memorandum of Understanding between Humboldt County Sheriff's office and Humboldt State University Police.
HCSO's SWAT team is a one multi agency effort. This MOU with HSU will be another.
Sgt. Jackson had to go through a complete background check, again. Sheriff William Honsal just confirmed that. Sgt. Jackson's will be hired and her start date will be in a few weeks.
Sheriff Honsal told me "We need bailiffs; we are short staffed." While Sgt. Jackson may also help out at the airport, HCSO is hiring her as a bailiff.
Sgt. Jackson is a part of the local Crisis Intervention Team. Her team leader is HCSO Deputy Jason Akana. She is also a member of the California State University Critical Response Unit (CRU).
