Laura's Law statewide would get some people frequently arrested, actual mental health treatment

Erik Neal is a danger to others, he can be prescribed anti-psychotic medications and he is going to a state hospital. Orders were made September 13.

Confirmation of transport is October 3.

Will Neal get the help he needs or just be shipped back to Humboldt saying he is competent to stand trial?

Laura's Law is a California state law that allows for court-ordered assisted outpatient treatment. To qualify for the program, the person must have a serious mental illness plus a recent history of psychiatric hospitalizations, jailings or acts, threats or attempts of serious violent behavior towards [self] or others.

I have done a few posts in 2016 and 2017.  If Humboldt County Board of Supervisors was serious about helping those challenged by mental illness, they would have taken some concrete steps to pass this law.
