From green safety jacket and sandals in court to release today on 3 years probation on a domestic violence plea

Trial confirmation was scheduled for Trevor Gillihan today. His jury trial was scheduled for September 17 but Gillihan plead guilty today to PC 273.5, corporal injury to a spouse or cohabitant. Gilihan also admitted a violation of probation.

A 2017 case against him was dismissed by the People with a Harvey reservation. A Harvey waiver by the defendant allows the court to consider dismissed charges during sentencing in a criminal case.

Gillihan appeared in court today, again, in a green jacket wrapped around him, no orange jumpsuit, bare legs visible and sandals.

This is usually attire for the safety zone. Inmates placed in that zone for their own safety.

Criminal proceedings had been reinstated on August 29.

The People did not seek additional jail time. Gillihan was placed on three years conditional probation. He was served with a protective order. Any weapons seized were ordered destroyed. Judge Dale Reinholtsen emphasized some terms of Gillihan's probation include 52 sessions of domestic violence, 25 hours community service and he is prohibited from owning a firearm.

The case was prosecuted
