I cannot verify Unknown's comment if Cory Fisher has a juvenile record that has been sealed but if it is true, HCSO can and could have checked, according to the law.

During the preliminary hearing, there was testimony about Cory Fisher and James Doe #2 growing up together in a group home. If there is a juvenile arrest record for Cory Fisher, is it connected to that information,?
Even before Unknown's comment, as the last post indicates, HCSO's handling of Cory Fisher's resignation, what information was made available to properly investigate the inmates' claims as well as the resistance to releasing records I was rightfully entitled to shows poor judgement and lack of transparency.
The defense's gag order makes it more difficult to get information. The defense created this problem because they brought it up in court as an obstacle in their investigating the case.
Answering a question about why Cory Fisher was hired, what kind of background check was done was way before any criminal charges were filed and not covered by the gag order.

ReplyDeleteRusty, this comment isn't directed at you because I know you appreciate what I do and you and have pointed out several times what I am saying in this comment.
ReplyDeleteWith more financial and staff resources than me, the rest of the local media is perfectly fine with churning out PR pieces than challenging entrenched systems when they screw up. Time and agai, they follow up days and months after I take the risk to break story after story and do investigative reporting at great personal risk and financial detriment.
The rest of the media are fine with copying my vision and are doing more court and crime coverage because they saw the success and interest. But do they copy me and take risks to hold those with money and power accountable?
Except for Nazy, Monica and Kym who give me proper credit for my work, the rest are petty not to give proper credit (with rare exception). They don't even follow the basic ettiquette of journalism.
A grassroots blog has to bring information like the Cory Fisher, Patrick McTigue, Randall Cook, scandals and so many others to light.
