Water gushing on Second and I street leaves yucky mess

If you live near the corner of Second and I streets in Eureka or your car is parked on Second street, there was at at least a couple inches of muddy brown water on both sides of the street.



Water had been turned off, affecting some houses. City of Eureka workers were standing around that truck, yelling as water gushed on the street. The water leak "had been contained" as of 3:38 p.m.

According to the City of Eureka, "they were updating a fire service." They may do more work on Monday or Tuesday.

There was no notification to residents today but the City Public Works will notify if future work is done.
