Former correctional deputy Cory Fisher preliminary hearing reveals three of the alleged victims were his 2 stepsons and biological son

Preliminary hearing was scheduled on September 6 for former correctional deputy Cory Fisher in Courtroom 5 this afternoon. Time estimate is 4 hours.

Fisher is charged with 14 counts of alleged sexual abuse and inappropriate behavior involving six minor male victims. 10 felony counts and four misdemeanors.

Charges (amended complaint):



Judge Christopher Wilson read each count and any special allegation associated with the count. Counts 1-9 pertain to the three John Does; Counts 10-14 to the three James Does.

EPD Officer Ryan McElroy was the first to testify. EPD Senior Detective Ron Harpham is testifying now and HCSO Detective Jennifer Turner is expected to testify, most likely after Det. Harpham. 

Officer McElroy testified about verbal arguments and physical altercations that happened on June 25, 2017Officer McElroy responded to a family disturbance call and interviewed Cory Fisher, John Doe #2 and Angela Fisher.  In June 2017, both Cory Fisher and John Doe #2 declined to press charges, John Doe #2 went to the hospital with Angela Fisher. In August 2017, John Doe #2 wanted to press charges.

Deputy District Attorney Stacey Eads is prosecuting the case. Deputy Conflict Counsel David Lee is representing Fisher.

According to the Ramey warrant for Cory Fisher, the three alleged victims describe the inappropriate and forceful behavior they endured.

Alleged victim 2 said that the first time he was molested was around the time Cory Fisher, Sr. started working for the Humboldt County Sheriff's Department.

According to the Ramey warrant, "none of them were aware of the others being molested."
