Kaven Dangerfield had his preliminary hearing today. He was ony held to answer on Count 2, assault with a deadly weapon. Wonder how this will affect the alleged victim's request for a permanent restraining order?

Matthew Loren Wells arrested for drug, firearm and posession of a stolen vehicle

On 8/04/2021 at about 12:39pm, an officer with the Arcata Police Department located a reported stolen vehicle at the Arcata Community Center occupied by a male subject.  

Another continuance for convicted molestor who continues to game the system


Setting for any motions filed by convicted molestor Mark Dare's attorney, Mr. Russ Clanton, which could include a motion for a new trial and status/setting of sentencing was continued to August 4. It was continued once more to 9/16/21.

Plea deal for convicted felon who SWAT had to waste an entire day to arrest

 


Convicted felon, assault and criminal threat suspect Kyle Muhaw entered an plea  on August 3, the day of his preliminary hearing. Several charges were dismissed. Sentencing is on 9/9.

Alleged victim has a restraining order against Kaven Dangerfield

 


Arcata attempted murder suspect Kaven Latheniel Dangerfield's preliminary hearing was scheduled for August 4. It was continued to August 5.

John Cogorno withdraws as Ray Christie's attorney

 


Trial confirmation and hearing regarding the defense motion for a new trial for Ray Christie was continued to August 4. I had a feeling it would be continued again and it was to August 6 for trial assignment.

The City of Eureka has been notified of a higher-than-average concentration of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, in wastewater flowing to the City’s wastewater treatment plant.

Arcata Mayor Brett Matthew Watson was arrested by CHP Officer Chris Nielson on August 1 for HS 11364 (a) posession of opium pipe or any drug paraphernelia for ingesting/smoking a controlled substance, HS 11350 (a) possession of  a controlled substance and VC 23152(G), driving under the combined influence of drugs and alcohol. 

U.S. District Court approves modifications to civil local rules

The Judges of the United States District Court, Northern District of California, have approved proposed substantive modifications to the Civil Local Rules (L.R.s).

Arrest at 5th and N leads to discovery of stolen vehicle, concealed weapon and 48 ounces of weed


On July 30, 2021, at about 6:37 p.m., a Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputy on patrol in the area of 5th and N Street in Eureka observed a vehicle towing a trailer with an expired registration. The deputy conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and learned that the vehicle towing the trailer had been reported stolen out of Oregon.

Susan Kirkby arrested in state park for meth and failure to pay fee for use of facilities

 




Susan Ann Kirkby was arrested by State Park and Recreations for posession of meth, posession of meth pipe and drug paraphernalia and failure to pay fee for use of facilities.

All three were misdemeanors and she was released on O.R.
