Former Humboldt court mediator and former CWS employee Joe Hale is scheduled to be arraigned this Friday in misdemeanor court. A waiver of personal appearance was filed by Hale's attorney, Mr. Paul Gallegos so he does not have to be present in court. Mendocino Assistant Deputy District Attorney Dale Trigg is the prosecutor for the case.
Yesterday, the Humboldt DA filed a protective order where a duplicate of actual photographs and videos will be provided to defense in discovery. That protective order states Hale's case involves the "alleged surreptitious taking of photographs and/or videos of several female undergarments and intimate parts of their bodies."
Remember in my previous post, I asked if these photos were taken at the Courthouse and if they were in the women's bathrooms?
Hale is charged with four misdemeanor counts of PC 647 (j) (2) known as criminal invasion of privacy or disorderly conduct by secretly videotaping or photographing the body or undergarments of another person. There are four alleged victims, all women.
As I reported previously, Mendocino Judge Ann Moorman has been assigned the case since there has been a full bench recusal by all the Humboldt Superior Court judges pursuant to PC 170.1
