Not only did Lost Coast Outpost put a byline on sloppy post that mostly lists work from other sources including a two year old press release from Emerald Farms, they continue their petty, childish omission denying something I wrote last July. My post was original reporting with court documents.
On 4/25 there is an ex parte hearing regarding defendant's substitution of counsel Emerald Family Farms LLC, Patrick Murphy, Tanja Baker and Humboldt HealthCare LLC. That motion was granted. Hearing on auction sale of assets is scheduled for 4/26 with a case mananagement conference on 5/22. Court minutes from 4/26 posted below.
There is another lawsuit filed against Murphy, Humboldt Healthcare LLC and Emerald Farms by Michael Stewart also on calendar on 4/25. There was a dismissal in that case against 333 Bigfoot LLC.
4/26 court minutes:
LOCO was too lazy to actually go to the Courthouse and check documents but say "it's unlear what happened." That sentence involves no risk and isn't real journalism. LOCO tried to reach Murphy but could not be bothered to reach Pelorus. Emerald isn't the only LLC being sued and certainly not the only cannabis related business to be sued.
Several cannabis businesses and properties are for sale, have closed down for multiple reasons. An actual journalist would have interviewed people impacted by Emerald Farms and Humboldt Healthcare LLC closing and got a comment from Second District Supervisor Michelle Bushnell instead of regurgitating other people's work. This is the kind of slop LOCO puts out regularly.
Any reader paying attention already knows this and reads other local news sources with original work and not consistently day old, month old and year old information. LOCO's daily output continues to be a joke considering the staff and the money they have.
