Deputy Public Defender Ben McLaughlin disqualified Judge Timothy Canning from Ryan Friend's jury trial. The trial has been assigned to Retired Judge John Feeney.
Two letters published on my blog about Mr. McLaughlin, one was from Joel Buckingham and the other was the Humboldt Superior Court letter response to a letter by Judge Canning. Both were only sent to me but Mr. McLaughlin obtained the letters directly. The one from Humboldt Superior Court he has requested and is waiting to receive.
