Karen Paz Dominguez signed her agreement, her resignation is effective tomorrow

Humboldt Auditor Controller Karen Paz Dominguez just confirmed this news to me.

"I signed the settlement agreement today, " said Ms. Paz Dominguez." My resignation is effective as of tomorrow."

The County lawyer reached out to her " almost immediately after election day. " Ms. Paz Dominguez will be staying in Humboldt.

I  also asked Ms. Paz Dominguez the following questions since there were no restrictions to what she could say or she would not have signed the agreement.

My questions:

3. If you are comfortable, what was the amount of the settlement since you are leaving early?

4. Is the County dropping the cross complaint against you?

5. Do you have to wait to comment on the State Auditor Report?

6. Who is your counsel?

7.  Will you be suing Humboldt County?

8. Does this agreement allow you to share evidence  you could not before?

Ms . Paz Dominguez's responses:

3. They will pay my salary for the remainder of my term, plus the incentive for not using the County's insurance, plus $15k.

4. Yes.

5. I sent my response to the SCO on Monday. They will publish the final report soon.

6. I was represented by the Sutton Law Firm. They were fantastic.

7. I did not waive my right to sue for defamation, discrimination, and other wrongs as part of this agreement.

8. I'm not sure about this actually. I'll need to check.

One of the things I specifically asked Ms. Paz Dominguez was if Lost Coast Outpost had contacted her. She said yes.

Just as other information, particularly about the Auditor Controller, it gets mysteriously leaked out to LOCO first. Who informed Ryan Burns/LOCO immediately after the agreement was signed? That is a rhetorical question.

The few anti Paz Dominguez trolls and County employees with an agenda have plenty of other local places they can continue with their smears and personal attacks. It wont be on my blog. This blog is not controlled by the good ole boys and gals who don't believe in transparency, accountability or supporting independent reporting.
