Marian Brady campaign kick off for Harbor Commissioner on September 11
The campaign kick-off for Marian Brady for Humboldt Bay Harbor, Recreation and Conservation District, Division 4 will take place Tuesday, September 11 at 12:15 p.m. adjacent to the Wharfinger Building at the Eureka Boat Basin.

Deputy Conflict Counsel David Lee questioned Detective Jennifer Turner about logs, surveilance video to verify claims by inmates against Cory Fisher.
She was told video from specific dates was only available for a limited time. She was not allowed to interview Cory Fisher' partner, correctional officer Robinson since it would result in an internal investigation. Why were there no logs provided?

HCSO Investigator Jennifer Turner, the third witness for the People testified this morning. Her testimony included interviews with James Doe #1 and 2 and James Doe #3 as well as other inmates at the Humboldt County jail, who were identified by first name Alvin, Matthew and John, Cloud aka Christopher.

The preliminary hearing for former correctional officer Cory Fisher resumed this morning with EPD Senior Detective Ron Harpham taking the stand.
Angela Fisher told Det. Harpham that initially, "she didn't have the strength to come out in public."

Judge Christopher Wilson read each of the 14 counts in court today before the Cory Fisher preliminary and for each count stated the alleged victim.

Fisher is charged with 14 counts of alleged sexual abuse and inappropriate behavior involving six minor male victims. 10 felony counts and four misdemeanors.
Defense challenges state hospital finding murder suspect Antone Aubrey being competent to stand trial
A hearing was scheduled this morning for report on custody status and a certification of competency for murder suspect Antone Aubrey. Aubrey was admitted to the Jail Based Competency treatment program on August 9. He was sent back to Humboldt and booked into the jail on September 4.
