Change of plea forthcoming in Sohum upskirting suspect's case, jury trial vacated


Jury trial for Sohum upskirting suspect David Nunez was vacated at trial assignment last Friday.  A disposition and reset hearing is scheduled on June 27.

Change of plea is forthcoming.

Alleged kidnapper's vehicle bursts into flames, fortunately victim had escaped


"San Francisco police officer pursued two people across the Bay Bridge after reports that they had shoved a woman in the trunk. The pursuit ended in Emeryville, where the vehicle went up in flames and one person was killed."

Charles Wesley Cole arrested for battery, again


Charles Wesley Cole arrested Friday for PC 242, battery. He already pleaded guilty previously to battery in one case and animal cruelty to another case in 2016.

Six illegal aliens trapped inside cabinets rescued by U.S. border patrol agents



On June 4, 2018, Laredo Sector Border Patrol Agents assigned to work at the checkpoint on U.S. Highway 59, rescued six illegal aliens who were trapped inside cabinets in the back of a truck.  After a service canine alerted to the possible presence of concealed humans and/or narcotics, agents searched the truck to find the six illegal aliens from Mexico.

Pot lounges in West Hollywood, San Francisco and Oakland



West Hollywood has begin accepting applications for pot lounges.

Currently, eight licenses are available for lounges that offer edible cannabis. Another eight for lounges where people can smoke and vape; food and drink will be available . As many as 100 applicants are expected. Similar proposals are being considered in San Francisco and Oakland.

Zachary Harrison charged with murder and personally and intentionally discharging a firearm causing great bodily injury


A felony homicide complaint was filed for Zachary Harrison today.  He is scheduled to be arraigned at 1:30 p.m.

Count 1: Murder [PC187(a) with a special allegation  F/Arm:Gbi:Com/F [PC12022.53(d) or "personally and intentionally discharges a firearm and proximately causes great bodily"

A press conference via phone will be held tomorrow by Mendocino Sheriff Tom Allman to discuss updates in a lawsuit pending against the Sheriff's Office and the County of Mendocino. During this press conference Sheriff Allman is expected to provide information about a motion filed by Mendocino County and MCSO in James Neuroth v. Mendocino County et al. Spaces to the press conference are limited.

Pound of meth seized during traffic stop near Wabash and B




An alert Eureka Police Department officer on patrol this afternoon, Bram Jansen, conducted a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle occupied by several subjects.  A high risk traffic stop was conducted near Wabash and B Streets.  Several detained and a pound of methamphetamine seized.  Further to follow via a forthcoming press release.  Well done Officer Jansen and team!
