While I was checking on court cases just now, two defendants I covered stopped by to check on their cases

In the last 5 minutes, while I checking on several court cases, two defendants whose court cases only I have covered stopped by to check on their cases. Humboldt Superior Court Operations Manager Kelly Nyberg was on the second floor and she assisted them.

One was James Leach who admitted he is on formal probation and was checking to see if a traffic case had been filed. The other one was Michael Solomon whose jury trial was supposed to start today. It was confirmed  on 12/18/25. 

In a last minute development, on 1/2/26, the case was dismissed by the DA and the protective order terminated. I will add the court document for Solomon in an update to the previous post on the blog.
