Last year U.S.Secret Service investigated 60,000 POS terminals for EBT fraud and skimming nationwide and removed illegal devices before "criminals could steal card data"

In 2025, U.S. Secret Service-led skimming and EBT fraud operations throughout the US and investigated 60,000 point-of-sale terminals and removed illegal devices before criminals could steal card data. 

These are just some of the photos from the  operations released by the Secret Service. 

The U.S.Secret Service partnered with federal, state local law enforcement partners to investigate 60,000 card readers and  conducted 22  operations in various cities nationwide which included Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., Anchorage, Boston, Orlando, Charlotte, Buffalo, San Diego, New York City, San Antonio, Baltimore, Tampa, Atlanta, Savannah, Memphis, Miami and Pittsburgh. Multiple operations were conducted in some cities.
