"There's a strange sign at a construction site on F St. between Fourth and Fifth Street which says do not enter worksite without receiving safety briefing and then down until 100 block of F Street, the The fire department is there but the whole street is blocked off."

Construction all over Eureka happens on the time. It is the do not enter without safety briefing.

It has been so busy that I did not have a chance to follow up on this before because I saw the 5th street sign myself. Then  a reader contacted me just now. I did go check it out.

I emailed Humboldt Bay Fire Chief Tim Citro and City of Eureka Manager Miles Slattery and Assistant City Manager Pam Powell. 

Chief Citro responded, "Hello John, Not sure about F St. between 4th and 5th, but our ladder truck company was conducting routine training in the old town area this morning for about 1 hour."
