Jackie Klem is suing County of Humboldt and Otis Elevator Company. Klem is represented by Mr. William Stein of local law firm Janssen Malloy.
The lawsuit was filed on 12/24/25. On September 16, 2024, Klem was visiting an inmate at the Humboldt County jail. The lawsuit alleges elevator stopped, doors opened but was misaligned with the floor, Klem tripped and suffered injuries.
A Case Management Conference is scheduled on 6/22/26.

6/22/26: Mr. Stein appeared for Klem, Conor Kennedy for County of Humboldt and Ms. Audrey Hartman from LA law firm Tucker Ellis LLP for Otis Elevator Company. Depositions taking place. CMC on 10/19/26.
There are three Conor Kennedys in California all in Southern California. In the next update, I will see if I can find out the middle initial or more information.
