I have covered Lila Ortega over the years. This post is on the resolution of her Blue Ox theft case.

On 1/20/26, guilty plea to Count 2 petty theft, dismissal of Count 1 & was sentenced by Humboldt Superior Court Judge Lawrence Killoran to 1 year probation. Ortega has to stay away from Blue Ox. Court minutes state Ortega is to be booked and released on or before 1/30/26 but no jail time imposed.

Deputy DA Andy Truitt is the prosecutor for this case. Conflict Counsel Meagan O'Connell is Ortega's attorney.

I have provided links to previous coverage on the Blue Ox case and her most recent arrest.

1/23/26: Ortega was booked and released.

2/23/26: Motion for restitution filed by DA. Continued by stipulation to 2/26.

2/26/26: Motion for restitution granted by Retired Humboldt Superior Court Judge John Feeney for $257 to be paid to Blue Ox clothing.
