Funding for courthouse screening has been found, a new security guard being trained

You heard it here first. Humboldt County Sheriff William Honsal told Courthouse security they found the funding to keep courthouse screening. This is what happens with the power of the people speaking up and effective, independent reporting calling out powers to be.

This does not necessarily change the plans of the security guards leaving, I checked with them. This photo is one of three guards leaving. I had posted photo of another guard in an earlier post.

A new guard is being trained.

I have emailed Sheriff Honsal for more details.

Sheriff Honsal responded on 1/27, "Good Morning John,

I told the security guard that there was a ‘plan to get the security screening funded.'   I did not tell him we got funding.

Courts asked if we can continue to negotiate to ensure the screening stays at the entrances.  We met and advised them to seek grants and stop gap funding.   One of those funding sources was through the CCP.   They put a request to the CCP committee last week and were granted stop gap funding for the next 16 months."

The County has until Monday to respond to my PRA about stats I requested and reported on previously.
