Amber Sawboh arrested by EPD for first degree residential burglary

Amber Dawn Sawboh was arrested today for for PC 459 burglary and PC 460(a) first degree residential burglary. According to reports, Sawboh forced entry into an apartment on 2nd Street and barricaded herself inside. 

A Linkedin profile for Amber Sawboh states she is a student at College of the Redwoods. EPD PIO Laura Montagna said Amber Mcdavit is her legal name. Alias is Amber Sawboh.

McDavit has two cases that are duplicates in her Humboldt Superior Court search. She now has three 2024 cases. One filed in February 2024 and two for her March arrest.

On March 5, 2024, at approximately 12:27pm., Eureka Police Department (EPD) officers responded to the 1000 block of 2nd Street for the report of a burglary in progress; a female suspect reportedly forced entry into a second-floor apartment and barricaded herself inside. 

Upon arrival, officers contacted the victim outside of the apartment building. Officers were able to remove the item blocking the door and observed the interior of the apartment had been rummaged through. Believing the suspect was concealed inside, officers began making requests for her to surrender. This was not effective and the suspect refused to comply. Utilizing a K-9, officers searched the apartment and located the suspect concealed behind furniture. The suspect then complied with officers and was taken into custody without incident. 

The suspect was identified as 42-year-old Amber Dawn Sawboh. Sawboh was booked into Humboldt County Correction Facility for PC 459 and PC 460(a). Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to contact Officer Tagaropoulos at 707-441-4060.

These two cases are for her March 2024 arrest.

 This case was filed on February 2024.
