Umpqua bank robber charged with robbery, bail set at $75,000

 


Jonathan Hening, the man who robbed Umpqua Bank and then walked over to the Courthouse to turn himself was arraigned on 3/8. He is charged with one count of PC 211, robbery. The Public Defender's office was appointed and bail set at $75,000 by Retired Judge John Feeney. 

OR/bail hearing this afternoon; preliminary hearing on 3/20. 

3/12: At Hening's OR/bail hearing, Judge Lawrence Killoran reduced his bail to $65,000 but denied OR and supervised release. Defense is looking into the possibility of mental health diversion.


3/20: Preliminary hearing continued to 3/22 by DA because witness is unavailable.
