There have been a few changes in human trafficking and money laundering suspects Uonan Uonan aka "Chicago John" and Nicholas Machado aka "KGB" cases since my last post. Yesterday, Uonan's case was on for preliminary hearing and source of bail.
The preliminary hearing was continued to 7/10 after the defense motion to continue was granted. The source of bail had been vacated because on 2/6, there was a hearing and Uonan's PC 1275.1 bail hold was lifted.
Machado's preliminary hearing is also scheduled for 7/10. On 3/26, defense made a request to remove Machado's ankle monitor and was told to file a written motion. Machado has a hearing on April 3 on that defense motion.

4/3: Deputy Public Defender Casey Russo's motion granted. Deputy District Attorney Jessica Watson appeared on the case for the People.
