Criminal threats suspect Daniel Epperson was arraigned this afternoon on four misdemeanors. He is charged with two counts of PC 422. 6 (a) violation of civil rights or committing a hate crime, one count of PC 422 criminal threats and one count of PC 653m (b) annoying or harassing phone calls.
Alleged victims are Lee Ulansey and Joshua Ulansey. The only Lee Ulansey I know and lived in Kneeland is the HumCPR founder and former Humboldt County Planning Commissioner who relocated to Hawaii. That Lee Ulansey still has properties in Humboldt. That Lee Ulansey is also related to a Joshua Ulansey. Josh Ulansey's Facebook profile confirms he is the son of Lee Ulansey. Worked at O & M industries owned by Ulansey's buddy and political ally Rob McBeth. Josh Ulansey is a former legal intern for ADL and former infantry at Israel Defense Forces. Lee Ulansey called HCSO and said he and his son had received several threatening and anti-Semitic messages on social media. I am sure Rex Bohn and Billy Honsal will make sure this case gets top priority given their connection to the Ulanseys and McBeths.
Epperson has a Kneeland address in the Humboldt Superior Court system. One of his previous arrest records also list him as a Kneeland resident.
Bail set at $25,000 by Judge Lawrence Killoran. Deputy District Attorney Trent Timm appeared for the People for arraignment. The Public Defender's office was appointed to represent Epperson. OR/bail on 3/15; trial confirmation on 3/27; jury trial on 4/2.
