Extra bailiffs in court for Melissa Johnson's sentencing

 


Melissa Johnson's sentencing had already been continued twice. Today, sentencing is finally proceeding. Johnson was ordered by Judge Christopher Wilson to appear in person. Johnson is in court right now standing next to her attorney.She is convicted murderer Mauricio Johnson's mother.

Johnson was sentenced to 364 days in jail and remanded into custody today. She got 8 days of custody credits. Johnson has to serve 180 days in jail before she is eligible for SWAP. Once released, she  will be on probation for two years.

Jail staff confirmed she was booked. Her release date is 4/15/23. This sentence was expected. People asked for two years in custody.

Johnson's had an open plea to Count 1, accessory after the fact. The complaint states that Johnson and her co-defendant Von Keener of unlawfully, having knowledge that the crime of murder was committed by Mauricio Eduardo Johnson and they unlawfully harbored,concealed and aided Mauricio Eduardo Johnson with intent that he might avoid and escape from arrest, trial, conviction and punishment of said felony.

Deputy District Attorney Roger Rees is the prosecutor. Ms. Kathleen Bryson is Johnson's attorney.
