Is the Judge in control or the convicted sex offender and his attorney running the Courtroom?

Judge Christopher Wilson is retiring at the end of the year. I know he can be stern and talks about being productive. Why was this nonsense that wastes court time allowed for the last two hearings in convicted sex offender Robert Munts' three cases.

This kind of disorganization does not happen in Assistant Judge Kelly Neel's courtroom despite the length of the calendar. This kind of nonsense did not and does not happen in retired Judge Marilyn Miles' courtroom.

Twice, all that has been done is court dates have been continued. I had to waste time going through court minutes attempting to keep up with the constant chaos. If you care about what happens in these three cases involving this convicted sex offender, read the rest of the post. Follow up yourself at the Courthouse. Future updates will be added according to significant developments; hopefully a resolution.

In CR2202395 10/24 continued to Aug 26 arrest motion to dismiss by Conflict Counsel continued by court to 10/2.  On 10/26 in this case, defense motion granted and Count 4 is reduced to a misdemeanor. 11/1 date vacated. OR/bail and trial confirmation scheduled for 11/2; jury trial on 11/14.

In CR2202415 August 15 arrest ,OR bail hearing on 10/24 continued  by court to 10/26 and continued again by court to 11/2. 11/1 date vacated. Pre trial on 11/14.

In CR2202673, pre trial on 11/14.

All this nonsense because on 10/20 there was a motion by defense to release Munts on OR and those were the hearings on 10/24 which were continued to 10/26 and now dates shuffled to 11/2.

11/2: CR2202395 case for the August 26 arrest. Motion to dismiss by Conflict Counsel continued by court to 10/26;  continued to 11/2. Motion to release denied. No bail hold. Trial assignment on 11/10; jury trial on 11/14. CR2202415 case for the August 15 arrest. Motion to release denied. No bail hold. Pre trial on 11/10 and 11/14. CR2202673 Motion to release denied.Pre trial on 11/10 and 11/14. In every case, Court stated lesser forms of supervison do not address risk to the community.

11/10 & 11/14 update: Criminal proceedings suspended in all cases. Dr. Wilson appointed; report due 12/6.

12/6: Munts found not competent to stand trial.  Medical evaluation and placement hearing on 1/4/23.
