Stacks of bills as a backdrop in alleged gang murder for hire closing arguments

Closing arguments are going on right now in alleged gang member Isreal Nathaniel Soria's jury trial.

Deputy District Attorney Luke Bernthal was addressing jurors with what looked like stacks of bills covering the courtroom's blackboard. They were images on Google maps.Deputy DA Trent Timm is the lead and other trial prosecutor.

Effective backdrop in a case that involves the Humboldt cocktail of stolen weed, money, violence retribution except the extra twist  is that the People are not just alleging murder but that it is a gang hit.

The gray suit Soria has been wearing to court most days does little to deter from the stereotypical look most people associate with gang members. As he ran into the courtroom today, without his attorney by his side, Soria looked more like a scared young adult than a gangster. He was 21 years old when he shot Dylan Eubanks last year.

What really matters and should to the jury is the credibility of witnesses and the evidence.
