Chong Her grabbed Jane Doe and dragged her out of her home onto the pavement is the allegation

Kidnapping and domestic violence suspect Chong Her's preliminary hearing is still going on. Her has an interpreter. The alleged victim also needs a Hmong interpreter. The request for the victim was someone who is also familiar with the Thai dialect.

Jane Doe is testifying. HCSO Deputy Stoner testified this morning. Jane Doe is in a separate room testifying via Zoom.

Deputy District Attorney Candace Myers is the prosecutor for this case. Deputy Public Defender Wade Orbelian is Her's attorney.

Deputy Stoner responded to a call for service on September 23,2020. The residence was Jane Doe's aunt's house.

Connor Yang is Jane Doe's nephew. On that day, Yang, Jane Doe, Her, Yang's father, Jane Doe's mother and Hue Tao were present.

"He liked me. He never stopped pursuing me." Her would not take no for an answer. Jane Doe testified about an incident where Her stopped by her house, aggressively knocked on her window, would not leave and kept asking her to leave with him. She said no and eventually had to ask her father to go outside. That is what it took for Her to leave.

Both Deputy Stoner and Jane Doe testified about an incident in Eureka. Jane Doe said Her called her during a meal. He wanted Jane Doe to go out with him. She declined. He showed up at the residence and dragged her outside.

Deputy Stoner's account had the additional details that Her grabbed Jane Doe's arm and dragged her by her hair, across the floor and outside onto the pavement.

Today in court, during direct examination, Jane Doe denied one earlier statement. Jane Doe said she was mad when she said Her forced her to have sex and that he put a gun to her head. She said the September 2020 incident in Eureka had eye witnesses.

During cross examination, she said the incident "with the gun was untrue but the incident in Eureka was true."

The final outcome of the hearing is being added to a separate post.
