Further setting scheduled for murder suspect Daniella Moore
Setting of preliminary hearing for murder suspect Daniella Moore was continued to this morning. Further setting is scheduled for September 16 and could be continued again if evaluations by doctors are not received.
On March 12, Moore entered an additional plea of not guilty by reason of insanity.
On May 12, Dr. Erick Hung from UCSF and Dr. Mikel Matto from Humboldt were appointed to evaluate Moore.
Deputy Public Defender Casey Russo is Moore's attorney. Deputy District Attorney Stacey Eads is the prosecutor for this case.
Moore's presence was waived for the hearing by Mr. Russo.
Judge Kaleb Cockrum had only one order for Dr. Hung in the Court's file. After searching, it was determined that the order for Dr. Matto was in the computer system but not in the file.
Judge Cockrum said since "we are waiting on the doctors' reports." Commenting on the reality that these take time, Judge Cockrum suggested a further setting in 60 to 90 days. Ms. Eads requested a date in 60 days.
"We have been compiling materials for doctors," said Ms. Eads. " There is a lot to go through." Dr. Hung indicated he would do the evaluation with Moore at "the end of July."
