Before any budget cuts to the police and fire, there needs to be an independent private audit and state audit of the City of Eureka Building and Planning and Code Department

I could post daily and several times on the emboldened losers littering the streets of Eureka. Most people have taken advantage of the housing and services in Eureka. The few stubborn that remain are drunks and addicts and mouthy.

They feel entitled to harass and disturb others, vandalize and destroy property that is private while engaging in harmful and suspicious activity.

Nothing will change due to the incompetent leadership of this Eureka City Council and a City of Eureka Code Enforcement and Building and Planning Department drunk with power and completely unaccountable that should be working on these chronic issues. They are dismissive of issues not convenient to them.

This is what Eureka looks like and no amount of brightly colored billboards covers up the stench andthe visual filth.

Those are the only departments that I didn't see budget cuts for. Before any budget cuts to the police and fire, there needs to be an independent private audit and state audit of the City of Eureka Building and Planning and Code Department.

Graffiti, vandalism, feces, urines, businesses needing to put fences to keep addicts off their property. People having to work from home during this pandemic having to constantly deal with bums and addicts camped out, yelling and screaming. Same with people in offices and downtown.

If this pandemic is so contagious and people have had to give up their civil liberties, no one needs to be on the streets.

Especially those that are constant issue and result in EPD having to deal with issues that the City of Eureka needs to fix, hasn't for decades and has worsened under the leadership of this current City Council.

Arcata created one space where people were given meals and could stay. Why hasn't Eureka done the same?  $500,000 being used for a diversity and inclusion training that many area organizations should provide for free. Let Humboldt Area Foundation donate to that cause. They certainly have money to throw around when it suits them.

Complete and transparent information to the public should be provided about each City department. Not some spin via a PR agency or the rest of the local media that does no real investigation.

This Eureka City Council wants another tax but they cannot even manage money provided properly. Feel good trainings are not what people struggling in a pandemic need. Clean up this city and encourage revenue and business. You wouldn't need tax increases if you focused on creating an environment that generated revenue.

Government employees have been collecting a paycheck throughout this pandemic. Many are grateful. To those government employees, including those at the Courthouse, whining and not wanting to open offices and give access to the taxpayers who pay their salaries, you should not be paid or have a job. Appointments are discouraged on the third floor of Eureka City Hall. So your lives are more important than the City of Eureka Finance Department?

To those government employees who don't want to work, give up your job, your benefits and stay home. There is no 100% guarantee against COVID. There is no 100% guarantee from any illness or death. With precautions, private offices, hospitals and others are open.

To cut off access to people from government, from medical offices, eye appointments during a pandemic is wrong. This pandemic has been mismanaged at the federal and state level. It is serious but the fear and hype are out of proportion. What is spreading it is irresponsible people but the penalty is being borne by all.

In home caregivers, people working in hospitality, businesses like Sun Valley Farms don't have the luxury to refuse work and be protected by special interests like the unions. What do unions do these days besides pay bureaucrats and protect the lazy employees? The ones working hard move on, have to litigate or transfer because unions are too busy fighting for those employees who do their job under difficult circumstances.

Studies have shown private gatherings are responsible for tranmission than businesses. The Sacramento Health Officer is one of those people. stating this fact. Humboldt Public Health stats show the same. Contact with a known case from irresponsible people.

This is what happens when decades of money is funneled and government becomes a way of life in a state that makes constant decisions to grow government but make cuts to law and order and takes no action on issues negatively impacting private business.

Home sales, construction ,even some local restaurants are doing well because hard work and financial smarts work during this local pandemic. The coronavirus impacts have affected private enterprise. The City of Eureka wants more money when their daily inaction on chronic issues impacts their revenue base.

Don't tout EPD programs in your PSA Susan Seaman or Betty Chinn. Show us what you and this Council are doing for private business and law abiding citizens.

Do not use  use public safety and ask for taxes and then cut public safety budgets because of the current PC clueless crime enablers and use money for police and fire for other expenses.

9:01 p.m.: This is the fourth time. There have been two other instances of needles. With this guy was the other guy who comes here with his white plastic bag where he keeps his needles.
