Trial confirmation and a motion to file first amended information for attempted murder suspect Matthew Ramsey was scheduled this morning.
District Attorney Maggie Fleming appeared on the case for the People.
Mr. Russ Clanton is Ramsey's attorney. Ms. Sara Zalkin appeared in court for him today. She said, "Mr. Clanton asked me to object to the timeliness of the motion."
She did not know if Mr. Clanton planned to file a written opposition but she said defense would file a 995 motion if the Court granted the DA's motion claiming that the semi automatic firearm enhancement is not supported by the evidence at the preliminary hearing.
Hearing was continued to July 27. Jury trial for August 3 remains set for now.
