"They had a trailer full of black bags that really look like a lot of weed."

"Any idea about the bust that took place on Humboldt Hill road last night around 5:00.? " Reader messaged me about the 6100/ 6200 block of Humbdt Hill between between Bongio and Bayview Lane. House across the street is 6182 Humboldt Hill.

"There were a lot of patrol cars where that barn is there was a car parked in there and they were going through stuff. I know that I registered sex offender had lived there and they've been cleaning it up. Not that that has anything to do with it but that's why I noticed the place. They had a trailer full of black bags that really look like a lot of weed."

Have contacted HCSO for more information.  They are putting out a press release.

HCSO Press Release (10:08 a.m):

On July 22, 2020, at about 2:30 p.m., Humboldt Bay Fire was dispatched to the report of a structure fire at a residence on the 6100 block of Humboldt Hill Road in Eureka. Fire crews arrived on scene and located light smoke coming from an open window of the residence. Upon making entry, personnel located a large Butane Honey Oil (BHO) lab inside the residence. Additionally, a male victim with minor burn-related injuries was located inside.

The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Marijuana Enforcement Team (MET) was requested to respond to investigate the BHO operation. Deputies arrived on scene and served a search warrant related to the BHO lab. During their investigation, deputies located approximately 417 pounds of BHO product, 65 pounds of cannabis bud, 1,737 pounds of cannabis shake, one firearm, nine 50-gallon butane cylinders and other BHO lab equipment. The BHO lab was dismantled and the butane was removed with assistance from Eureka Oxygen.

The male victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries.

No arrests have been made at this time. This case will be forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office for review.
