Starting June 15, HBF Headquarters will reopen for business

Humboldt Bay Fire continues to evaluate the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on our services in light of State and Federal recommendations.

As we learn more about the virus and its presence in our community, we will adjust our operating procedures in an effort to provide the highest level of service to the public while protecting our personnel, patients, and community.   Beginning Monday, June 15, at 8:00 a.m., Humboldt Bay Fire Headquarters Station 1 will re-open for business.

However, we encourage community members to conduct business via our website or by calling into our station if at all possible. Most inquiries with Humboldt Bay Fire can be resolved over the phone or via our website including bill pay, plan review, weed abatement, and engine requests. If you do require an in-person appointment or service, such as needle drop-off, we encourage you to make an appointment by phone at 707-441-4000 or via email at info@hbfire.org.   At our headquarters station, masks will be required for entry and HBF personnel will greet you at the barrier. Hand sanitizer will be made available at the front desk for your convenience and, although we would love to shake your hand, social distancing will be practiced with all visitors. If at the time of your appointment you are exhibiting any signs or symptoms of COVID-19 including fever, cough, shortness of breath, or gastrointestinal issues, please refrain from entering the building and contact your health care provider.   Call 9-1-1 if you are experiencing a true medical emergency and alert the dispatcher to any flu-like symptoms.    At this time, our satellite Stations 2, 3, 4, and 5 remain closed to the general public.  Other services such as Car Seat Checks, CPR Training, Meeting Room Use, Ride-Alongs, and Smoke Detector Installation have not resumed at this time, though we hope to continue such services with modifications within the next few weeks. In the meantime, if you have questions or concerns regarding these services, please call 707-441-4000.   Questions or Concerns about COVID-19? Contact the County of Humboldt’s Joint Information Center (JIC) at 707-441-5000 or email covidinfo@co.humboldt.ca.us  Humboldt Bay Fire, the City of Eureka, and the County of Humboldt will continue to evaluate the threat of COVID-19 to our community and provide updates as warranted. We remain committed to the safety of our community, and we will get through this together. Please help us by staying home if possible. Together, we can flatten the curve.
