Kyle Kertscher, a paid staff member and Fire Captain for Fortuna Volunteer Fire Department was arrested yesterday by Fortuna Police Department. Jail log only shows domestic violence charge, however he has two other charges which are false imprisonment and rape by force/violence/duress.
HCSO PIO Samantha Karges confirmed the charges.
Kertscher was booked on charges of inflicting corporal injury on a spouse (PC 273.5(a)), rape by force (PC 261(a)(2)) and false imprisonment (PC 236).
Kertscher posted bail and is out of custody. Bail was $125,000.
